These Terms explain the rules that apply when you create an account, use Moxie, take part in communities, interact with other users, or access paid features.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Moxie, including the mobile app, website, and related services. By creating an account or using Moxie, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Moxie. By using Moxie, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the date of birth you provide is accurate. We may suspend or remove accounts that appear to violate this requirement.
3. Account responsibility
You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and may not create an account for someone else without permission.
4. User conduct
You agree not to harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit, spam, scam, or harm other users — in private conversations or in group spaces such as circles and event chats. You may not post illegal, hateful, sexually exploitative, violent, misleading, or infringing content. You may not use Moxie to solicit money, sell services, or run automated activity without permission.
5. Prohibited content and behavior
You may not upload or send content that includes nudity involving minors, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, threats, hate, violence, self-harm instructions, illegal activity, malware, spam, scams, or content that violates another person's rights. You may not scrape, reverse engineer, bypass rate limits, interfere with security, or use Moxie for commercial solicitation without written permission.
6. Meeting people safely
You are responsible for your own interactions with other users, whether in group spaces, private conversations, or at events organized through the app. Use good judgment before sharing personal information or meeting someone in person. Meet in public, tell someone you trust, and report behavior that feels unsafe or violates these Terms.
7. Content you share
You keep ownership of content you submit — including messages, photos, voice recordings, trips, events, and group chat posts — but you grant Moxie a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, reproduce, and process that content as needed to operate and improve the service. You represent that you have the rights needed to share your content. Some content is temporary by design: circle rooms reset on a schedule, event chats are deleted when the event ends, and certain posts expire automatically.
8. Communities, connections, messaging, blocking, and reporting
Moxie provides community spaces, events, discovery feeds, waves, connections, chat, blocking, and reporting tools. We do not guarantee that you will receive responses, connections, or any specific outcome. If you block someone, the app limits interaction between you across communities and conversations, and may offer an option to delete message history according to available functionality.
9. Moderation and enforcement
We may review, restrict, remove, suspend, or terminate accounts, content, messages, photos, group rooms, events, or subscriptions if we believe these Terms, safety rules, law, or the integrity of the service may be violated. We may also apply rate limits or restrict features to prevent abuse or protect users.
10. Subscriptions and purchases
Paid features may be offered through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled according to the policies of the store where you purchased and the terms shown at purchase. Some features may change over time.
11. Account deletion and loss of access
If you delete your account or if we terminate your access, you may lose access to your profile, connections, messages, communities, subscriptions inside the app, and other account data. Subscription cancellation and refund rules are controlled by the Apple App Store or Google Play where applicable.
12. Intellectual property
Moxie, including its name, design, software, and service features, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell, or misuse the service except as allowed by law.
13. Service availability
We aim to keep Moxie available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may be changed, limited, or discontinued as the product evolves. Temporary spaces such as circles and event chats end by design, and their content is not recoverable after they close.
14. Disclaimer
Moxie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any guarantee about connections, compatibility, or user behavior.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Moxie will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of the service.
16. Termination
You may stop using Moxie at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for others, or use the service in a way that may harm Moxie or its users.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Moxie after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
